EIN TAITH DYSGU | OUR LEARNING JOURNEY
This term, our class will be exploring the inquiry topic 'People Who Help Us'. Through this inquiry, pupils will explore the roles of familiar people in school and the wider community, such as teachers, doctors, nurses, firefighters and police officers. They will develop an understanding of how these people help to keep us safe, healthy and happy, while recognising that everyone has an important role to play within a community. Through stories, role play, visits, discussions and first-hand experiences, children will learn to identify trusted adults, understand where to seek help when needed, and begin to appreciate the importance of kindness, cooperation and helping others. They will also be encouraged to recognise how they can contribute positively to their own classroom and community through simple everyday acts of care and responsibility.

Darllen | Reading
Please listen to your child read as often as possible, 3 or more times a week would be great! Going over phonic sounds, flash cards or a few pages of a book is best. Our aim is to promote a love of reading. New letter sounds and flash cards will be added as and when your child is ready for new ones to practice. Please comment in their reading journals to let us know how they are getting on. Send your child’s reading book and journal to school every day so that they can also read with us during the week. Home learning activities will be sent out at the beginning of each term.
