OUR LEARNING JOURNEY
In Year 5/6 our theme is Global Goals. In Nolton we are focusing on the Sustainable Development Goal 13 Climate Action.
Our planet is on fire and we need to take action! Children will find out how our climate is changing and they will discover what small actions they can make in their lives to make a difference. They will put their ideas into practise by making pledges. We will discuss why plastic is wrapped around everything in the supermarket, why beaches are covered in litter, why the ice caps are melting and sea levels rising. The children will learn about amazing young activists and how they are saving the world. In Welsh we will learn how to talk about ourselves in the first person. We will use a fun app Morpho to animate our faces and record ourselves speaking in Welsh. At the end of the unit will write pen pal emails to discuss ourselves with other people in Welsh.
